Handmade Ceramic Stoneware Rustic Spoon, with "Spoon" Detail and Bowl.
Spoon : 16.5cm (L) x 3cm (width of scoop)
Bowl : 6.5cm x 9 cm
The Bowl is Hand thrown on a Potters wheel, once Leather hard I can trim and smooth over ready for drying.
To make my spoons I pull a handle as I would for a mug handle , but keep the handle straight with the thicker end of the pulled handle I mould into the scoop shape for the spoon. I then stamp the word "Spoon" into the handle, once the clay had dried a little and then smooth over.
When the Spoon has dried it goes into the kiln to be biscuit fired, when the kiln has cooled, I can add the glaze. There is an Almond Milk stoneware glaze on the front, then it goes into the kiln for a second time.
Great for using as a Salt Spoon or with conserves and Honey and has a hole in the handle so it can hang.
The spoon is a lovely size to hold and would make a lovely Housewarming gift for anyone who enjoys their Honey/ Conserves or great as an everyday Spoon.
The spoon is Stoneware fired to 1250 degrees, making it safe to use in a dishwasher.
Due to the fact that this piece is Handmade, you may find slight imperfections in the form, glaze and texture from the handmade process. This is what makes each piece unique.
